O’Brien Joins IIABA as Lobbyist
Patrick O’Brien has joined the Capitol Hill office staff of the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America (IIABA) as the new lobbyist/grassroots coordinator.
O’Brien has spent the past four years working in Sen. Ted Kennedy’s Washington, D.C., office as a special assistant to the chief of staff. In his new role with IIABA, O’Brien will be responsible for coordinating Big “I” grassroots efforts among member agents and carrying out assigned lobbying activities on the Hill.
O’Brien’s other work experience includes stints at the Charles County (Md.) Association of Handicapped and Retarded Citizens, the Maryland National Capital Park and Planning Commission, and United Cerebral Palsy of Southern Maryland. O’Brien is a graduate of the University of Maryland and previously served on active duty with the U.S. Marine Corps.
