Arthur J. Gallagher Co. Acquires Four Agencies

Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. has completed four insurance agency acquisitions, purchasing Davis-Poston & Assoc. of Dallas; Bultman/Bell Associates of Greenville and Columbia, S. C.; Universico Group of St. Claire Shores, Mich.; and Joe E. Martin Inc. of Springfield, Mo. Terms of the transactions were not disclosed.

Incorporated in 1972, Davis-Poston & Assoc. provides a full range of property/casualty products and comprehensive loss control programs to clients throughout the South. Bultman/Bell Assoc., established in 1986, offers a full range of brokerage and risk management products and services for medium to large commercial insurance accounts and specializes in nursing homes and retirement centers. Their accounts are primarily located in the Southeast.

Universico Group has origins dating back to 1956 and provides a complete spectrum of commercial property and casualty insurance products and services. Through Universico Financial Services, they market group health and life programs and other employee benefit services. Joe E. Martin, incorporated in 1985, is an employee benefits broker and consultant specializing in group insurance, managed care and other services for clients in the Springfield and Southwest Missouri area.
