Blast Destroys Florida Mansion
An explosion destroyed one mansion and damaged three others and the town hall in Manalapan, Florida in Palm Beach County.
One woman was slightly injured in the explosion, which rocked houses up to four miles away and resulted in an estimated $20 million in damage, Police Chief Clay Walker said Monday in an AP article.
The blast Sunday night erupted in the garage of a home just behind the town hall, Walker said. Tile floors in the home were being removed prior to the explosion and a gas line may been severed during the construction, Walker said.
The owners were away on vacation.
The town hall was heavily damaged, as were three other homes on the street. State fire marshals are investigating.
