Kansas Woman Sentenced to Probation for Insurance Fraud

Kansas Insurance Commissioner Vicki Schmidt announced a Johnson County woman has been sentenced to 24 months of probation for insurance fraud.

Jinky Alcantara, aged 39, pleaded guilty on May 26, 2026, in Johnson County District Court to one felony count of insurance fraud. Alcantara produced false invoices to her insurance company as part of a burglary claim with the intent to financially gain from the submission of the false writings. She was sentenced on July 16, 2026, to 24 months of supervised probation and assessed $500 in fines, with additional court costs and fees.

The Kansas Department of Insurance investigated this case which was prosecuted by the Kansas Attorney General’s Office.
