People Moves: Cottingham & Butler Expands Property & Casualty Leadership

Cottingham & Butler, a privately held insurance broker based in Dubuque, Iowa, announced a series of leadership appointments across its Property & Casualty business, reinforcing the firm’s specialized expertise and its commitment to industry-leading insurance brokerage services.

Mark Roling has been named EVP, P&C Brokerage Leader. In this role, Roling oversees C&B’s full P&C business, including its Transportation and Risk Management practices, with a focus on aligning the firm’s specialized capabilities and expanding the markets and programs it delivers to clients. Roling has spent his career building Cottingham & Butler’s Transportation practice into one of the most respected in the industry and brings deep market knowledge and a track record of growth to his expanded role.

Taylor Orton has joined Chris Vogel, SVP – Transportation, to co-lead the firm’s Transportation practice. Vogel is a well-known and respected leader in transportation insurance, with deep technical expertise and long-standing relationships across the industry. Orton brings extensive experience growing specialized business, having spent the past six years helping build the firm’s Wisconsin operation. Together, they lead one of the largest and most specialized Transportation practices in the country, serving trucking clients nationwide.

Ryan Butler has been named to a newly created role as Head of Corporate Strategy, working directly with President Mike Hessling on the firm’s long-term strategic agenda. Butler previously led the firm’s Risk Management practice, where he drove sustained double-digit growth through specialized industry-vertical expertise.
