Westfield Appoints Scholz as Enterprise CIO

Westfield, a U.S.-based property and casualty insurance company headquartered in Westfield Center, Ohio, appointed Lloyd Scholz as enterprise chief information officer (CIO). Reporting directly to CEO and Board Chair Ed Largent, Scholz’s responsibilities include advancing technology, data, and analytics capabilities across Westfield’s global property and casualty operations.

Scholz joins Westfield with more than 25 years of technology leadership experience in financial services and insurance. Most recently, he served as senior managing director and chief technology officer at Markel, leading global teams to support business operations across North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific. Prior to Markel, he spent 16 years at Capital One in progressive leadership roles focused on data engineering, analytics platforms, cloud strategy, and enterprise technology transformation.

Mosaic Hires Warty to Lead FinPro Lines for Americas Expansion

Mosaic Insurance, headquartered in Hamilton, Bermuda, hired U.S.-based finpro executive Sachin Warty to lead its global financial institutions and professional liability business as the firm prepares to expand both product lines across North America.

Based in Chicago, Illinois, Warty joins the specialty insurer effective December 15 as global head of financial institutions & professional liability (finpro). Reporting to him will be U.K.-based Francesca Harland, who becomes head of international, professional liability, and Jacqueline Hall-Shaw, named head of international, financial institutions.

As part of the realignment, former FI head Tom Dilley and Danny Clack, deputy active underwriter of Mosaic Syndicate 1609, now have enhanced positions—becoming global head of client engagement and head of broker engagement, international, respectively, reporting to Global Engagement Officer Yosha DeLong while retaining underwriting roles.

Warty previously co-led the US financial institutions business of Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) for the past five years. Prior, he was a lead underwriter at BHSI overseeing financial institutions business for the U.S. Central and Western regions. He also held underwriting positions at CNA and Travelers.
