Safety National Awards 3 Safety First Grants
St. Louis, Missouri-based insurer, Safety National, has awarded its annual Safety First Grant to three policyholders for their creative risk control solutions.
The first-place grant, in the amount of $10,000, was awarded to Alliance of Schools for Cooperative Insurance Programs to purchase garbage can assistive lifting devices to alleviate injuries due to heavy lifting while emptying garbage cans into dumpsters.
The second-place grant, in the amount of $5,000, was awarded to Capital Region Educational Service District 113 Workers’ Compensation Trust to install commercial kitchen electric can openers, eliminating potential ergonomic occupational injuries from repetitive can opening.
The third-place grant, in the amount of $2,500, was awarded to Montana Association of Counties Workers’ Compensation Trust to install a vehicle collision avoidance system to reduce the frequency and severity of employee motor vehicle accidents.
The Safety First Grant Program is available to any Safety National workers’ compensation insurance policyholder with a risk control solution that aligns with Safety National’s lines of coverage. The next application period will open in June 2018.
