Iowa’s Grinnell Mutual Launches National Reinsurance Unit
Grinnell Re, a division of Grinnell, Iowa-based Grinnell Mutual, has launched a new team, National Reinsurance. Rick Tjarks, assistant vice president, and Randy Dammeyer, senior account executive, have been chosen to lead the new National Reinsurance team.
The newly formed team will focus on developing business growth opportunities in new territories, the broker market, and the broader property/casualty insurer space. The reinsurance provider will also continue to take advantage of growth opportunities in their traditional farm mutual marketplace.
“The customer profile we target in the National Reinsurance space may be somewhat larger, but can look very similar to smaller mutual clients in many ways,” Reinsurance Vice-President Kevin Farrell said in the company’s release.
Farrell also pointed out that some National Reinsurance clients will require coverages Grinnell Re hasn’t traditionally offered, and that potential clients exist in states outside of Grinnell Mutual’s current footprint.
