Canadian Grain Bin Maker Sued by North Dakota Insurance Company
A North Dakota-based insurance company is accusing a major farm equipment manufacturer from Canada of making defective grain bins.
Farmers Union Mutual Insurance Co. of Jamestown is suing Winnipeg-based Westeel in federal court. The suit seeks unspecified damages.
The insurance company says the grain bins failed three times last year when they were exposed to winds below 94 mph, the speed for which they’re designed.
KFGO radio reports that Westeel officials did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
