Ohio Group Unveils Plan to Deal With Cyberattacks

A group of politicians, law enforcement members and business leaders has given its blueprint for how Ohio communities can deal with cyberattacks to the state Emergency Management Agency.

The Columbus Dispatch reported the Cybersecurity Work Group unveiled its report on cybersecurity Monday.

The group met for the first time in October to improve preparedness in the event of a cyberattack or a natural disaster that knocks out essential technology. The project was paid for with a $160,000 federal grant secured by Franklin County.

The report includes strategies for agencies confronted with technological crises, classifications for types of emergencies and a guide to build lines of communication between public and private entities.

State officials will review the report before disseminating it to the rest of the counties later this year.
