March 5, 2015

Five Cincinnati-area residents have been indicted on multiple counts of alleged insurance fraud for filing a significant number of false insurance claims in 2014 totaling approximately $85,000, the Ohio Department of Insurance announced.

The department alleges that as part of the scheme to defraud insurance companies, the individuals filed fraudulent claims pertaining to automobile accidents that never occurred.

A Hamilton County Grand Jury charged Deandra Chambers, Domynic Elahee, Trenton Evans, Jaynell Todd, and Shawniece Reed. Chambers was also charged with forgery and tampering with records.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol and the National Insurance Crime Bureau assisted the department in the investigation.
