South Dakota Agency Owner to Fill Vacant House Seat
South Dakota Gov. Dennis Daugaard has appointed Mark Willadsen, owner of Willadsen Insurance Agency in Sioux Falls, to the state House of Representatives.
The governor’s office announced that Willadsen, 59, will represent District 11, filling the seat that was vacated by Rep. Christine Erickson, who resigned last month to assume her position on the Sioux Falls City Council.
Willadsen previously served in the House from 2005 to 2009 and 2011 to 2013.
Willadsen’s appointment is effective immediately and runs through the end of this year.
District 11 includes areas of western Sioux Falls near Roosevelt High School, as well as rural areas to the west of Sioux Falls.
