2nd Arson Attempt at Missouri Planned Parenthood
Investigators say someone tried for the second time to start a fire at a Joplin, Mo., Planned Parenthood clinic.
The Oct. 4 nighttime fire caused minor damage before a police officer was able to put out the blaze. During an earlier attempt on Oct. 2, a fire did not start.
The Joplin Globe reports security cameras caught someone in hooded sweatshirts or coats throwing bags on both nights.
In the previous incident, the suspect apparently failed to ignite the bag, which contained incendiary materials. Joplin police say that the suspect Friday night can be seen lighting the bag.
Investigators are currently unable to tell if the same person was involved in both incidents.
City, state and federal authorities are investigating the incidents.
