South Dakota Motorist Hits Motorcycle, Vehicles While Texting
Police say a Sioux Falls, S.D., man was texting and driving too fast when he hit a motorcycle, three other vehicles and a light pole, and then ran from the accident scene.
Brent O’Neal faces charges of felony hit and run, reckless and careless driving, and driving without a seat belt or insurance coverage.
The motorcyclist was seriously injured. Police didn’t identify him and his condition was not available.
Police say O’Neal was driving and texting on July 25 when he hit a car. He swerved and hit another car. Then he struck a minivan and the motorcycle in an intersection.
O’Neal hen struck a light pole and ran over some greenery before stopping in a drugstore parking lot.
Police say the 20-year-old O’Neal ran from the accident. He was quickly caught.
