Utah Insurance Agent Barred from Business in North Dakota
A Utah insurance agent has been ordered to stop doing business in North Dakota.
State Insurance Commissioner Adam Hamm says Bart Winterton of Vernal, Utah, operated as an insurance producer without being licensed in North Dakota. Hamm’s cease-and-desist order bars Winterton from engaging in any insurance business in the state.
Winterton issued a statement to The Associated Press acknowledging that he made “errors in assumptions regarding activities I could be involved in without an insurance license.” He says he will abide by the terms of Hamm’s order.
