Cedar Rapids Oks Flood Demolition Contract
The city of Cedar Rapids has awarded a nearly $539,000 to continue demolition of flood-damaged residential and commercial structures.
The city said in a news release Tuesday that under the contract, Kelly Demolition will tear down 75 residential structures by June 8.
The money is being provided by the federal government.
The 2008 flooding damaged or destroyed hundreds of Cedar Rapids buildings.
