Karlen Named President, COO of Michigan-Based FinCor Holdings
John R. Karlen has been appointed president and chief operating officer of FinCor Holdings Inc. (FinCor), a Lansing, Mich.-based subsidiary of Medical Professional Mutual Insurance Co.
In this role, Karlen will lead all of the FinCor subsidiaries including MHA Insurance Co., Washington Casualty Co., The Risk Management and Patient Safety Institute Inc., FinCor Solutions Inc. and Capital Risk Solutions SPC.
Having served the medical professional liability insurance industry for more than 30 years in a number of key positions with increasing responsibility, Karlen’s industry experience includes underwriting vice president, product and services development vice president as well as vice president of administration.
Karlen is currently is president of Conventus Inter-Insurance Exchange in Woodbridge, N.J. Previous experience included management positions at Physicians Insurance Mutual of Seattle, Physicians Insurance of Wisconsin, CNA Insurance, Orion Group and Safeco Insurance.
Karlen holds a number of insurance designations including Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter, Associate in Reinsurance and Associate in Premium Audit.
