Illinois Reminds Producers of Continuing Education Requirements
Beginning Jan. 1, 2010, insurance producers in Illinois will be required to include three hours of classroom ethics instruction as part of their required 24 hours of continuing education.
In a bulletin released by the Illinois Department of Insurance, producers whose licenses renew in January or February 2010 were reminded that they must complete the requirement by registering for three hours of classroom ethics instruction on or before Dec. 31, 2009, and successfully completing the three hours of classroom instruction on or before Feb. 28, 2010.
The new requirement for three hours of classroom ethics instruction is the result of the passage of House Bill 70, which goes into effect Jan. 1.
