Iowa Gets $11 Million Flood Relief
Iowa has been awarded nearly $11 million in federal floods for flood recovery.
The grants from the Federal Emergency Management Agency are to help with rebuilding projects at the University of Iowa and in Linn County.
More than $1.2 million has been awarded for a temporary boiler system at the University of Iowa power plant; more than $4.2 million to cover repair work and labor costs at the Linn County sheriff’s office; about $1.4 million for evaluation, drying and cleaning of damaged court records in the 6th Judicial District; about $1.6 million for repair road washouts and other projects at public work sites in Linn County; and about $1.4 million to repair a sludge incinerator at a water treatment plant in Cedar Rapids.
