Insurance CEO Buys Actress Lange’s Minnesota Home for $1.8 Million
The buyers of Jessica Lange’s home in Stillwater, Minn. have been revealed.
According to the Washington County Assessor’s Office, the buyers are Patrick and Jane Thiele. Patrick Thiele is a former top executive at The St. Paul Cos.
The home of Lange and Sam Shepard was sold in September for $1.8 million. At that time, the names of the buyers weren’t disclosed.
Patrick Thiele has been the CEO of Bermuda-based reinsurer PartnerRe since 2000. Reinsurers sell insurance to insurance companies to spread out their risk. He worked for The St. Paul Cos., now Travelers, for 20 years.
Lange, a Cloquet native, bought the former bed-and-breakfast in 1994 for $415,000. She and Shepard lived there about nine years and raised their three children there.
When the estate was offered for sale in 2004, the price was $3.3 million.
