N.D. State Law Allows Workers’ Comp Agency to Publish Delinquent List
The North Dakota state workers’ compensation agency, with delinquent premium accounts totaling about $1.3 million, now has the authority to publish a list of those accounts.
A new state law allows the Workforce Safety and Insurance Agency to publish such a list, though a WSI spokesman said it is not yet ready.
“We’re still working on it,” WSI spokesman Mark Armstrong said.
Publishing the list would allow people or businesses looking for contractors or subcontractors to see which businesses are without coverage or are delinquent, he said.
“If I’m a worker, and I see my (potential) employer is not doing that, I may not want to go to work there,” Armstrong said.
