N.D. Commissioner Resigns From NAIC
North Dakota Insurance Commissioner Jim Poolman last week resigned from his position as vice president of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC). He was in line to become president of the organization after the earlier resignation of Ernst Csiszar, who left his directorship of the South Carolina insurance department to head up the Property Casualty Insurers Association of America (PCI).
Poolman cited family reasons, according to NAIC CEO Cathy Weatherford. The NAIC meets beginning this Saturday in Anchorage, Alaska. Oregon Insurance Administrator is the likely candidate to take the post of president, according to Weatherford.
