AIA Midwest Gets New PR Chief
The American Insurance Association today announced that Jeffrey L. Junkas has joined the organization as director of public affairs for the Midwest region. Junkas will be responsible for media relations, strategic planning and grassroots activities in the eleven-state region. He is based in AIA’s Chicago office.
Junkas comes to AIA from TransUnion, where he served as company spokesperson and provided strategic communications counsel to senior management and field personnel. Prior to his time at TransUnion, Junkas worked as public relations officer for LaSalle Bank in Chicago, and at MWW Group, a national public affairs firm.
He also briefly spent time working for a U.S. senator in Washington, D.C., and for the Illinois State Senate minority leader. Junkas has a bachelor’s degree in political science and speech communications from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and an MBA specializing in marketing from the University of Illinois-Chicago.
