Westfield Appoints Joyce as CEO
Robert J. Joyce was appointed as chairman of the board of directors of Ohio Farmers Insurance Co. In this capacity, he will lead Westfield Group, which includes Westfield Insurance, Westfield Financial Company, and Westfield Bank.
In addition to chairman of the board, Joyce is CEO of Westfield Insurance, one of the nation’s 50 largest property/casualty insurance groups, headquartered in Westfield Center, Ohio. He previously served as chief operating officer and chief financial officer of Westfield Group, as well as president of Westfield Management Co. He joined Westfield Group in 1996 and has more than 25 years of experience in financial services, including property/casualty, life and surety.
Joyce currently serves on the boards of the National Association of Independent Insurers (NAII), the Business Advisory Council at Baldwin Wallace College, Inter-Ocean Insurance Co. and is a trustee member of AICPCU/IIA. He is a 1970 graduate of the Commerce & Finance School at Villanova University in Villanova, Pa., with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He is also a member of the American and the Pennsylvania Institutes of CPAs and retired from the U.S. Navy as a captain in June 1996 after 26 years of service. His active duty included recall to service during Desert Storm.
Westfield Group operates in 16 states and is represented by over 1,200 independent insurance agencies.
