Cuts Force Ill. DOI to Suspend Research Service
The Illinois Department of Insurance has suspended a comlimentary service which researched and answered questions about specific company rate filings, including the amounts of increases or decreases and effective dates.
A recent issue of the department’s newsletter blamed “budgeting and staffing constraints” for the move, saying the service had grown in popularity beyond the department’s ability to satisfy requests.
The information will now be available online by viewing each company’s Summary Form RF-3 filings at: http://www.ins.state.il.us/RF3-RF3_Info.htm.
That is the state form which property/casualty companies must file to notify the department of any change in rates.
