Illinois CPA Society Reinsurance Conference Highlights Marketplace Developments
The Illinois CPA Society’s 2003 Reinsurance Conference, a half-day event April 23 at the Illinois Department of Insurance in Chicago, will address best practices and current issues arising in the reinsurance market.
Richard G. Clemens, a partner at Sidley Austin Wood & Brown, will provide an in-depth discussion of the principal features, interpretations, and impact of the Terrorism Risk Insurance Act of 2002.
Donald Wustrow, executive vice president & COO of Chiltington International, Inc., will explain why it is crucial to monitor reinsurance transactions. Discuss the different types of reinsurance audits, and learn how timely auditing can detect problems before they lead to disputes.
A mock arbitration panel will show how reinsurance disputes are settled through arbitration. Expert panelists include: Susan Stone, partner, Sidley Austin Wood & Brown; H. Wesley Sunu, director, Tribler, Orpett & Crone; R. Michael Cass, president and principal consultant, R.M. Cass Associates; and Gerald F. Murray, reinsurance consultant.
See what happens when a ceding company and its reinsurer cannot resolve problems and choose to arbitrate. Learn how an arbitration panel is chosen, and gain insight into how issues faced by reinsurance partners can play out.
Cost for this program is $150 for Illinois CPA Society members and $190 for non-members. Attendees will earn 4 CPE credits.
