CDS Announces New IL Property Tax Service

November 11, 2002

CDS Business Mapping announced that it has recently created a “layer of GIS (geographic information systems) mapping data showing the Insurance Taxing Districts for the state of Illinois.”

The software enables insurance companies to accurately define mapping boundaries and can “code property locations with the proper tax codes.” The company said the “data is also available to agents and insurance companies using the company’s web based tool, the RiskMeter Online (www.riskmeter.com).

“Assigning the proper insurance tax codes in IL is a very difficult and frustrating process,” stated Dan Munson, VP of Sales & Marketing. “There are over 1,100 insurance taxing jurisdictions in IL, and they can be cities, towns, villages or fire districts. These new maps geographically depict the correct taxing district boundaries. Using the Risk Meter Online, a user simply has to enter the address to get the proper tax code back.”

CDS can also perform these lookups in batch to code an entire policy database with the proper tax codes, and “has built tax map GIS layers for FL, KY, LA, NC. All of these states are available using the Risk Meter Online.”
