Ohio Agent Candidates Can Go Online to Register
Adding to the list of technology enhancements developed over the past two years, Lee Covington, Director of the Ohio Department of Insurance, announced a new online service that will make it easier for insurance agent candidates to register for and schedule their licensing examination.
The new Internet registration and scheduling service, provided by Experior Assessments, provides around-the-clock access so that candidates can express register and schedule the licensing examination at their convenience. Beginning now, candidates can simply register and pay for the exam and then select an examination appointment from an up-to-the-minute availability listing and print an immediate confirmation statement.
Insurance agent candidates can access the online registration feature through the Ohio Department of Insurance website (www.ohioinsurance.gov) or Experior Assessments, LLC’s website (www.experioronline.com).
Insurance agent candidates must complete 40 hours of pre-licensing course work before they are eligible to take the licensing examination in Ohio.
In addition, licensed agents must complete 20 hours of continuing education credits every two years. In May, the Department announced that agents could complete interactive continuing education courses online, using one of the first paperless insurance training programs available in the country.
