Illinois Man Found Guilty of Arsons
A federal jury convicted on Tuesday an Illinois man of mail fraud and arson for destroying three houses and killing his first wife to collect more than $900,000 in insurance.
According to government testimony, John Veysey III was found out when he attempted to pocket an additional $550,000 in life insurance in a second fire at his home in early 1998. In that blaze, firefighters rescued his unconscious second wife and young son.
