Indiana Regulators to Investigate State Farm
Indiana insurance regulators are set to investigate whether State Farm Mutual Auto Insurance Co. unfairly denies or limits medical claims of crash victims. Critics say some “utilization review” firms hired by the insurer tend to side with the insurer.
The investigation was spurred by a decision from the National Association of Insurance Commissioners to launch an examination. The NAIC became interested in the issue after Dateline NBC report in July on review companies State Farm had used.
