Minnesota Legislature Adjourns Without Passing Several Privacy Bills
The Minnesota Legislature adjourned Thursday without gaining final passage of privacy bills dealing with financial records, telephone calling records and telephone “do not call” lists. The bills were passed last week by the state Senate, but were not brought up in the House of Representatives and died upon adjournment.
The Insurance Federation of Minnesota along with the American Insurance Association and the American Council of Life Insurers were opposed to the legislation, calling the bills “misguided.”
