HDI Global Names Schulte-Schrepping as Head of Liability Global Risk, Succeeding Maurer
HDI Global, the corporate and specialty insurer, has appointed Kai Schulte‑Schrepping as head of Liability Global Risk, effective July 1.
He succeeds Daniel Maurer who has decided to gradually step out of his current leadership role as part of his transition towards retirement.
With more than a decade at HDI Global, Schulte-Schrepping brings deep technical underwriting expertise and strong leadership experience in the area of complex global Liability risks. In this role, he assumes overall responsibility for the worldwide Liability Global Risk portfolio at HDI Global.
Schulte-Schrepping will report directly to Dr. Mukadder Erdönmez, member of the Executive Board of HDI Global, responsible for liability, cyber, motor and the US market.
Schulte-Schrepping’s predecessor Maurer joined HDI Global in 2021 and played a key role in designing the distinct liability global risk strategy, growing the portfolio and developing the global value proposition. He will remain with HDI Global and will take over a new role within US Market Management, continuing to report to Erdönmez.
“Kai’s promotion is a strong signal of our deep talent bench, continuity and future ambitions in Liability Global Risk. I am pleased to work with him on this next step and wish him every success as he continues to strengthen our global market position, acting as the preferred partner in transformation for our clients and brokers,” Erdönmez said.
Regarding Maurer, Erdönmez commented: “Dani has been instrumental in building up our Liability Global Risk organisation and portfolio over the last five years. His dedication, expertise and leadership have shaped the success and strong market reputation of HDI in the field of complex Liability risks. I am very grateful for his contribution and particularly pleased that Daniel will stay at HDI Global and help expand our US presence with his expertise.”
