Zurich Austria Launches Branch in Poland
Zurich Austria has launched a branch in Poland, marking Zurich Insurance Group’s entry into the Polish corporate insurance market.
The local team combines knowledge of the Polish market with the global competitive strength of the Zurich Insurance Group, Zurich said.
Zurich works closely with Polish insurance brokers and will act as an insurer, co-insurer, and reinsurer. Target groups include both local and multinational corporate clients, Zurich said.
Rafal Tokarz will head the Polish branch, bringing with him extensive industry experience and underwriting expertise, working over 30 years with brokers, serving corporate clients and multinational companies at various insurers in the Polish market.
The Polish branch is located in Warsaw and is managed from Austria under the leadership of Kurt Möller, chief underwriting officer Commercial, Austria & CEE, and member of the board of Zurich Austria.
“Zurich’s entry into the corporate insurance business in Poland marks another strategic milestone for us. Poland, as one of Europe’s largest economies with a dynamically growing corporate sector, offers excellent opportunities. With our international know-how and many years of expertise, we create real added value for Polish companies,” said Luciano Cirinà, CEO Commercial Insurance International at Zurich Insurance Group, in a statement.
“Together with our highly qualified and experienced team – including underwriters, risk engineers, and claims managers – we will bring this competence and performance to the market,” said Tokarz. “Quality matters, and corporate clients and brokers in Poland deserve access to the same solutions available to their international colleagues. This will enable them to realize their growth potential and expand beyond their domestic market.”
“Our goal is to support local businesses by providing them with smart and reliable risk management solutions that help them seize new opportunities and grow with confidence. We look forward to working together and helping companies succeed in a changing world,” said Möller.
