Beazley Launches GDPR Helpline for UK Policyholders

April 25, 2018

Beazley has partnered with international law firm DAC Beachcroft to launch a General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) helpline for its Beazley Breach Response (BBR) policyholders in the UK.

The new GDPR regulations, which take effect May 25, 2018, could lead to increased exposure to privacy and data breach liability risks for organizations worldwide. Organizations in the EU that process personal data, and those outside the EU that offer goods and services to EU citizens or monitor their behavior, will fall within the ambit of the new regulations.

Beazley said despite widespread publicity and the long run-up to implementation, enquiries from its policyholders, which have been fielded by its BBR Services team, suggest that the effects of the regulation are still not well understood.

In response, Beazley has partnered with DAC Beachcroft to set up a helpline service that will enable Beazley’s BBR policyholders in the UK to connect free of charge with some of the UK’s foremost GDPR legal experts. Policyholders will receive guidance on what the regulation means for them and the steps they should consider taking to minimize the risks of non-compliance from DAC Beachcroft’s team. The Beazley helpline can also help assist its policyholders in determining where best to apply their internal resources and where best to commit budget to their compliance efforts.

Policyholders seeking to take advantage of this valuable service can email Beazley’s BBR Services team, who will then capture the nature of their enquiry and will connect them with a DAC Beachcroft lawyer.
