ArgoGlobal Appoints Summers as Credit and Political Risks Underwriter
ArgoGlobal, the Lloyd’s insurer and member of Argo Group, announced the appointment of Andrew Summers as credit and political risks underwriter.
He will report to Jeremy Shallow, credit and political risks class underwriter, effective immediately.
Summers joins ArgoGlobal from AIG Europe where he served most recently as senior underwriter, political risk. In this role he was responsible for underwriting risks for a broad spectrum of insureds including corporates, financial institutions and commodity traders across the full suite of political risk products. Summers began his career with Aon in 2007, culminating with his appointment as a crisis management broker in the political risk department.
“Today’s uncertain geopolitical landscape offers opportunities for the credit and political risks marketplace,” said Shallow.
“We have significant ambitions to further develop our presence in this class and by virtue of our lack of legacy issues and risk exposure, we are able to adapt quickly and to look at new risks with an open mind,” he said.
ArgoGlobal is the trading brand of Syndicate 1200 at Lloyd’s, managed by Argo Managing Agency Ltd. The syndicate offers worldwide property, aerospace, marine, energy, specialty and non-U.S. liability insurance.
