Novae Launches Construction Unit with Appointment of Cross
Novae Group plc, the specialist listed Lloyd’s insurer, announced that Steve Cross has joined as unit head – construction. He is based in London and reports to Stuart Heath, divisional head of property.
Cross joins from CNA Hardy where he was the head of engineering in London and responsible for developing a global construction and engineering portfolio. He was also an integral founding member of a London market construction consortium. Prior to this, he spent seven years at Zurich as a senior construction underwriter and three years as a risk engineer for Allianz Cornhill. Cross is a chartered engineer and spent eight years working for Halcrow, a multinational engineering consultancy company.
“A key component of our strategy is cultivating and maintaining capability in specialty classes,” said Stuart Heath, divisional head of property at Novae Group.
He noted that Cross “is a leading underwriter in this class and has an excellent track record of growing profitable portfolios from scratch. We see significant opportunities in this area, and I look forward to working with him to build our profile in this class.”
