JLT Re Appoints Walters to Support International Growth, Client Development

JLT Re, the London-based provider of reinsurance broking and capital solutions, announced that Russell Walters has joined as a partner.

Bradley Maltese, deputy CEO of UK & Europe, said, “Russell joins JLT Re with over 30 years of reinsurance experience and expertise and will be driving international business expansion in London. While he has an energy background he will support cross-class production from Middle East and North Africa as well as Asia.”

Walters started his career as a marine London placing reinsurance broker at Alexander Howden which later became Aon. In addition to working at Aon he has also worked at Willis & Agnew Higgins and most recently Miller Insurance Services. He has also worked abroad running the branch for Aon Benfield in Bahrain & Dubai for three years and is accredited in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC).

Commenting on his appointment, Walters said, “JLT Re is a great fit for my drive and motivation, and I am delighted by the can-do culture and enthusiasm of clients. My focus will be on sustainable long term relationships which allow all parties to grow and prosper.”

As the reinsurance market continues to be affected by mergers and acquisitions, excess capital and new vehicles, JLT Re’s ability “to understand these changes and support clients through them will remain a key differentiator,” he continued.
