UK’s Allianz Insurance Aims to Improve Fleet Safety With Telematics Partnership
Allianz Commercial has joined forces with fleet incident management provider FMG, to provide commercial fleet and motor trade customers with the capability to improve driver safety and fleet efficiency.
Allianz Commercial is a division of Allianz Insurance, which is based in Guildford, England and is part of Allianz SE Group.
The partnership will allow Allianz’s fleet and motor trade policyholders to access FMG’s telematics software service, Ingenium Dynamics, at a discounted rate. Ingenium Dynamics aims to improve driver behavior by making it easier to identify, manage and reduce risk.
The professionally installed telematics devices collect key driving data and translate it into a simple “dashboard” to allow drivers and managers to monitor driver and fleet performance. One of the key features of the system is the ability to allow comparisons between users via a league table highlighting high risk driving behavior within a fleet.
Other features of the Allianz and Ingenium Dynamics portal include:
- Safety dashboard and driver behavior reports
- Live vehicle location and route planning
- Accurate mileage calculations
- Incident notification and analysis
- Miles per gallon and CO2 data
- Online driver training modules
- Vehicle fault alerts.
The Huddersfield, England-headquartered FMG will offer a fully supported and interactive service to clients alongside Allianz and brokers to maximize the benefits of the Ingenium Dynamics system in reducing accidents, lowering insurance premiums, optimizing fleet and route usage as well as increasing fuel efficiency and savings.
Jonathan Dye, head of motor insurance, Allianz Commercial commented: “Running a safe and cost-effective fleet is crucial to maintaining a profitable business, which is why more and more companies are investing in telematics to help manage their fleets. Our partnership with FMG demonstrates our commitment to digitalization and using new technologies to help our fleet policyholders improve driver safety and reduce their operating costs.”
He continued: “FMG’s Ingenium Dynamics has a proven track record of reducing incident claims and I have no doubt that this partnership will benefit our many fleet customers by creating a safer workforce and reducing costs for their business.”
Harvey Stead, commercial director at FMG, said: “Securing this partnership with Allianz is another significant achievement for FMG. There is a strong appetite for improving driver behavior as more companies are being judged on how they help their drivers to achieve better, safer driving practices. To ensure we deliver true value and sustainable benefits to Allianz’s fleet policyholders, we’ll provide a fully supported service to fleet managers and individual drivers throughout the lifetime of the contract. The benefits of this hardly need stressing, but fewer incidents, together with improved driver engagement, make for a safer workforce and less cost to the business.”
