Milliman Opens New Office in Belgium
Seattle-based independent actuarial and consulting firm Milliman announced that it has opened a new office in Brussels to augment the “global consulting firm’s growing presence in Europe.”
“By adding an office in Brussels, we expand and support our current presence throughout the Benelux market”, explained Laurens Roodbol, who is responsible for Milliman’s insurance practices in Amsterdam and Brussels. “It also reflects our desire to deliver cutting edge services and intellectual capital, to help insurers meet the challenges created by the economic climate and regulatory changes.”
Kurt Lambrechts heads the Brussels office. He has 15 years of working experience as a life insurance actuary and risk manager in a major Belgian bank insurance group, and is also an active member of the Institute of Actuaries in Belgium (IA|BE) and chairs their Education Committee.
The bulletin said the “consultants in the new office will operate as part of the European Milliman team, which includes 250 consultants. Milliman’s Benelux team in Brussels will focus on risk modeling and ERM (Enterprise Risk Management), implementation of Solvency II and ALM (Asset Liability Management).”
