DUAL Corporate Risks Launches Product for Computer Consultants, Contractors

DUAL Corporate Risks has launched a product for computer consultants and contractors combining professional indemnity and products liability.

“This is the first time DUAL Corporate Risks has offered a combined liability policy,” said Jennifer Martin, underwriting director for financial lines at DUAL Corporate Risks. “In this instance we have identified computer consultants and contractors as policyholders who require a combined policy, due to the potential difficulty in this sector in determining whether a claim falls under professional indemnity or products liability.

“If they were to just purchase professional indemnity, this may not be sufficient protection and if they purchase the insurances separately from different insurers, it could lead to conflicts as to where the claim lies and expose a potential gap in cover.”

This new product complements the company’s existing professional indemnity cover for other professions and the specialist product for the miscellaneous professions group.
