Cozen Joins United National Board of Directors
United National Group, Ltd. announced that Stephen A. Cozen, Esq., the founder and Chairman of the Philadelphia law firm Cozen O’Connor, has been elected to its Board of Directors and has been appointed Chairman of the Compensation Committee.
United National is a holding company formed under the laws of the Cayman Islands. It has a 44-year operating history in the specialty insurance markets through its wholly owned subsidiaries.
Cozen, 64, heads a law firm specializing in insurance related and commercial litigation, employing more than 490 attorneys with twenty-one offices throughout the U.S., an office in London and an affiliate in Canada.
The bulletin noted that he is “a Fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers and was formerly an Officer and Director of the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel. He is also well recognized as a consummate strategist, an appellate advocate, and is frequently called upon for specialized appellate advice, counsel and oral advocacy before both State and Federal appellate courts. Mr. Cozen is also a nationally recognized lecturer and author on a wide variety of legal and litigation issues with judicial opinions frequently citing his articles and texts as authoritative references.”

The bulletin noted that Fox “is also the Chief Executive Officer of Fox Paine & Co., LLC, which engineered and financed the acquisition of United National in September 2003, spearheaded the company’s initial public offering in December 2003, and continues as United National’s largest shareholder.”
