ACE Irish Subsidiary Opens London Office

Dublin-based insurer ACE European Markets Insurance Ltd. will expand the ACE Group’s activities in the London market with the opening of a new office in the city to be headed by Stephen French, currently the company’s European Markets’ Property Underwriting Manager.

The Dublin unit of ACE Bermuda Insurance Ltd. is part of the ACE Group’s international operations. It “offers insurance products and services through Bermuda and non-US- based intermediaries.” The London office will increase the groups ability “to focus on U.K. business,” and “the development of property business in London,” the announcement stated.

ACE European Markets also announced the transfer of Bob Patten from Bermuda and his appointment as Sr. V.P., Liability in the Dublin office. James Hooban, the Managing Director, stated that,” Mr. Patten will be focusing on the underwriting of two lines of business: excess liability for major corporate accounts and nuclear risks liability coverage.”
