AIG Life Insurer To Team With WorldCare For E-Medical Services

American Life Insurance Co. (ALICO), a member of the AIG Group, announced plans to team with Internet health care provider WorldCare, Inc. to offer global medical services through a consortium of health care providers.

WorldCare Global e-Health Network(TM) operates through a number of prestigious hospitals and medical centers in the U.S., including, Johns Hopkins, Harvard Medical School, Massachusetts General and Duke University.

It will provide on-line review of cases and give second opinions through a secure on line system “to ALICO individual and corporate clients residing in various countries outside the United States.”

“For the first time a major insurance company and an e-health pioneer are working together to provide access to expert second opinions from some of the world’s best hospitals to patients around the globe regardless of the local medical infrastructure,” stated Nasser Menhall, CEO of WorldCare, in the announcement.

AIG’s ALICO operates in approximately 50 countries, marketing “a broad range of life and other insurance products through a network of some 24,000 agents and brokers.
