Marsh Acquires Marine and Yacht Specialist Triton Agency

Global insurance broker Marsh today announced it has acquired Triton Insurance Agency, LLC, a Newport, Rhode Island-based agency specializing in marine and yacht insurance.

Triton will become part of Marsh Agency. Bob Peck, CEO of Triton Insurance Agency, and the rest of the agency’s team, will join Marsh Agency and continue operating from their current office in Newport.

Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Founded in 2011, Triton provides specialized insurance for high-net-worth individuals, with a focus on yacht, hull, and other marine coverage.

“The Triton team is a strong strategic fit for Marsh Agency as we continue to expand our capabilities to serve clients with a wide range of personal risks,” said Pete Walther, president and CEO of Marsh Agency’s Private Client Services division.

Peck said he and his colleagues look forward to tapping into Marsh Agency’s resources and culture.

Marsh and Marsh Agency are both part of the global professional services firm parent company, Marsh McLennan. Marsh primarily serves large corporate clients while Marsh Agency targets midsized and small businesses and organizations. Marsh Agency has more than 300 offices.
