People Moves: Virginia Workers’ Comp Commission Names 2 Deputy Commissioners
The Virginia Workers’ Compensation Commission named two new deputy commissioners, Adam L. Katz and Jason A. Mullins. Both Katz and Mullins will serve as administrative law judges under the Virginia Workers’ Compensation Act and hold evidentiary hearings.
Since 2010, Deputy Commissioner Katz has served in the Virginia attorney general’s office, representing the Commonwealth in workers’ compensation claims before the Virginia Workers’ Compensation Commission and Court of Appeals of Virginia. He previously represented employers and insurers in workers’ compensation claims before the Georgia State Board of Workers’ Compensation. Katz will be based in the commission’s Richmond headquarters.
Deputy Commissioner Mullins was previously a partner with PennStuart, where he focused on the defense of workers’ compensation claims. Prior to joining PennStuart, he represented both claimants and employers in workers’ compensation matters throughout Virginia. Mullins will serve in the commission’s Harrisonburg office.
