Bridge Specialty Acquires Pennsylvania Wholesale Broker
Bridge Specialty Group, a subsidiary of Florida-based Brown & Brown, Inc., has acquired the assets of Shoemaker & Besser, a managing general agent and wholesale insurance brokerage located in York, Pennsylvania.
The announcement said that Shoemaker & Besser team will continue to operate from York, reporting to Jason Haupt, regional president of Bridge Specialty Group’s Mid-Atlantic and Delta region.
Shoemaker & Besser owners Jack Brubaker, president, and Allan Boyd, vice president, said the retail agents their firm serves will “enjoy a very broad market reach both in personal and commercial lines to help them address their customers’ needs” as a result of the deal.
Anurag Batta, president of Bridge Specialty Group, said the merger will enhance his firm’s contract binding and light brokerage business.
