Agency Network Renaissance Acquires Consolidated Insurance Agents in Buffalo

Independent insurance agency network Renaissance reports it has has acquired the agency network business of Consolidated Insurance Agents Inc. (CIA), an agency network based in Buffalo, New York.

Renaissance said CIA’s 23 members collectively represent $47 million in premium and now have access to Renaissance’s benefits including expanded market access, placement services, technology and service resources.

CIA was started in 1983 by five captive insurance agents who wanted to become independent. It currently has about 25 agency members in New York. Carl Maranto is president of CIA.

This transaction expands Renaissance deeper into the Mid-Atlantic region and follows its acquisitions of United Agents of Arizona, a Mesa-based agency group representing $170 million in premium, and Agency Partners Inc. (API), an agency cluster with members in Alabama and Georgia representing $160 million in premium.
