The Connecticut Interlocal Risk Management Agency Hires Dion, Martin

The Connecticut Interlocal Risk Management Agency (CIRMA) has hired Ellen Dion as chief financial officer (CFO).

Dion has property and casualty insurance industry expertise spanning more than 25 years and will oversee budget preparation and administration, financial planning and operations, financial analysis and reporting, investment management and internal controls at CIRMA.

She previously held the position of senior vice president and group treasurer for The Navigators Group Inc.

CIRMA has also hired April Martin to the team as director of marketing.

In the newly formed position, Martin will play an role in building the CIRMA brand by promoting the organization’s products and services to both current and prospective members.

Martin has more than ten years of marketing and communications experience in the insurance industry. Prior to accepting her role at CIRMA, she was the director of Claim Marketing and Communications at Travelers Insurance.

CIRMA was established as a service program of Connecticut Conference of Municipalities (CCM), Connecticut’s association of towns and cities, with all of Connecticut’s 169 municipalities as members. Today, CIRMA is Connecticut’s provider of municipal risk financing and risk management services for Connecticut’s public entities.

As a member-owned and governed agency, CIRMA provides insurance for municipalities, school districts and local public agencies. It operates two risk pools, the Workers’ Compensation and Liability-Auto-Property pools. It also provides Heart & Hypertension claims services and risk management solutions to self-insured municipalities.
