Maryland’s Frederick Mutual Promotes Showalter to Vice President
Frederick Mutual, a Frederick, Md.-based insurance company, has promoted Jill Showalter to vice president and chief insurance operations officer.
Showalter initially joined Frederick Mutual on October 2, 2017, as its new regional vice president. In this role, she was responsible for all aspects of Commercial Lines Underwriting, as well as executing on the company’s agency marketing strategy for both commercial and personal lines.
In her new role, Showalter is responsible for all underwriting and agency management operations.
She spent the previous 20 years of her career in the insurance industry, working for 13 years at Liberty Mutual in Columbia, Md., as its assistant vice president of Commercial Lines Underwriting. Her responsibilities included profit, loss, retention and new business growth for a $176M commercial lines region serving the Maryland, Delaware and Virginia territory.
Prior to that, she was a territory manager, working with independent agency partners in the same region.
