Three Dozen Vehicles Involved in New York Chain-Reaction Pile-Up

A major New York highway has been reopened east of Buffalo after a deadly chain-reaction pile-up in heavy snow.

WHEC says one driver was killed and another severely injured Tuesday afternoon when about three dozen vehicles, including 10 tractor trailers, crashed on eastbound Interstate 90.

It took eight hours to clear the wreckage.

Drivers swerved and spun out as the snow, blowing sideways, made it nearly impossible to see.

Corey Zeiner, who was hauling a load of snow blowers in a box truck, says his brakes locked up as another vehicle slid into his lane. He smashed into a semi-truck.

Stranded drivers bused to a hotel in nearby Cheektowaga.
